A stability test checks whether a cosmetic product keeps its physical, chemical and microbiological quality and its function under defined storage conditions over time. It usually includes storage at different temperatures and checks of appearance, colour, odour, pH and viscosity.
The results support the shelf life on the label and are used in the safety report.
