UK Responsible Person for cosmetic products
Cosmetic products sold in Great Britain need a Responsible Person established in the UK. Our UK company, Kompass Europe Holding Ltd. in London, takes on this role and handles the SCPN notification.
Legal basis: Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 as retained in UK law and amended by Schedule 34 of the Product Safety and Metrology etc. (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019.

Questions
Can I use my EU Responsible Person for the UK?
No. For Great Britain the Responsible Person must be established in the UK.
Do I need a new safety report for the UK?
The safety assessment must meet the UK rules. An existing EU report is often a good basis, but it must be checked and adapted where needed.
What about Northern Ireland?
Northern Ireland follows the EU Cosmetics Regulation, so products sold there need an EU Responsible Person and CPNP notification.
